Individual psychotherapy
for Eating Disorders
for Eating Disorders
Eating disorders are serious mental and physical illnesses that involve complex and damaging relationships with food, eating, exercise, and body image. The relationship we built with our bodies is formed by different life experiences and can progressively become unhelpful or damaging during our adulthood. To redefine and reconstruct this relationship we will need to gain a better understanding of ourselves and learn how to become more accepting and compassionate towards our body. Therefor in therapy, I follow an integrative approach which includes:
- Psychoeducation
- Tools from CBT for Eating disorders
- Explorations from the psychodynamic and existential approaches
- Mindfulness and somatic practices (breathwork and gentle movement practices)
But most importantly I will aim to create a strong therapeutic alliance, so you feel safe to share your personal experiences and challenging emotions.
